ActiveState Komodo Edit is, in our opinion, the best Freeware Editor out at the moment.

Freeware Beast itself has been developed using this very IDE. With project management, code highlighting, code insight and code completion it has basically everything you will need from an editor.

Komodo Edit is a fantastic little programming application. It supports a vast number of applications such as Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby and Tcl; plus support for browser-side code including JavaScript, CSS, HTML and XML. All this support may seem implausible but in reality, truth is stranger then fiction. My programming girlfriend gave Komodo Edit a spin and assured me that it is the real deal. High praise indeed!
