Webmasters will find Alien IP an excellent utility for monitoring and tracking the traffic on their websites. The utility records the IP addresses of any website visitors, email senders or web hosts and displays their location on a world map. Alien IP allows users to gather IP information which can be used for, among other things, preventing the leaking of passwords, restricting access to users from certain countries and providing an understanding of the nationality of site visitors for research or security purposes. As a nice touch, Alien IP also calculates IP addresses in decimal, hex and binary format. The utility is simple enough to use and proves to be an invaluable tool for monitoring web traffic. It is worth noting that it is not foolproof however, and there are means and ways by which users can disguise their IP addresses should they so desire. For the most part though, Alien IP is a solid application for monitoring the location of internet users.
