DeskLauncher is a great freeware tool that provides a handy alternative to the traditional method of launching applications in Windows via the start menu or shortcuts. After installation, DeskLauncher provides you with a blank menu window into which you can add applications, either by dialog or dragging them in from the directory itself. Added programs can then be launched from the window or by using assigned hot-key combinations. Apart from applications, you can also add documents, folders and URLs, further boosting DeskLauncherÂ’s functionality. All of this makes the application a breeze to use, and the fact that it launches on startup and features an auto-hide option means that it does not get in the way of normal PC operations. Launching programs using this tool is only fractionally faster than using the Windows start menu or shortcuts, and its true value is only revealed if you have a large amount of programs that you need fast access to on a regular basis. Still, DeskLauncher can help simplify things, and remains a solid, application launching utility.
