Batch Replacer is not really a stand-alone utility but rather a freeware plug-in for use with Microsoft Office programs and is intended for automated text replacement. The search and replace filter allows for advanced, high speed replacements and the utility supports text and binary formats. While it can come in useful for web designers and programmers, Batch Replacer is just not comprehensive enough to make it a stand out offering in the genre. One of the major oversights is that files have to be in the same directory, so if you have many files in multiple folders, as most users do, then this application is not very helpful. Apart from this fundamental design flaw, Batch Replacer is plagued by several other small issues, such as the absence of drag and drop functionality, and while performance isnÂ’t too bad, it definitely is below par when compared to other similar batch files replacing utilities. Overall, it is a rather disappointing freeware offering, and until such time as the various problems are corrected in an update, users are advised to steer clear.
