Review by FileBEAST's Nameless_1:
GTK+2 (GIMP Toolkit) is so named because it was initially developed for the GNU Image Manipulation Program, but has subsequently been implemented in a wide range of software development projects. Built on top of GDK (GIMP Drawing Kit), GTK+2 is an excellent application programmers interface (API), and although written in C, many other programming language bindings are possible. Users can configure the look of the toolkit, which offers a number of display engines and provides excellent overall performance. There are many runtime environments that make use of GTK+2, and the tool can even be used in Windows to run Linux-based open source applications like GIMP and Pidgin. Updates in GTK+2 from the previous version include new text rendering features using Pango, an updated theme engine and a vastly improved accessibility toolkit. Whether used for programming or simply running Linux applications in Windows, this tool offers top-class performance.
Publishers Description
GTK+ is a totally free runtime environment that is often packaged with freeware (such as GIMP, X-Chat and Gnapster). You may already have the package on your machine: look to see if it appears in the list under Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs.
