TweakUI is a very powerful, impressive utility that allows you to take full control of your Windows installation. While it isnÂ’t very difficult to set up and use, some prior Windows knowledge is essential, and the power as well as the sheer depth of the application will only really be appreciated by advanced users. TweakUI is operated from a control-panel type menu, and customization options are neatly divided by tabs, making navigation straightforward. The program can be used in a wide variety of ways to improve and fine tune Windows to your individual needs and tastes, from removing shortcut overlays and the recycle bin from the desktop to mouse pointer customization and automatic log-on/off features. Fortunately, most of the changes are merely cosmetic in nature, meaning that if you fiddle around with TweakUI there is no real risk of doing some irreparable damage to your Windows installation. The lack of extra help features to assist beginners means that TweakUI is perhaps not as user friendly as it could be, but having said that, if you have basic a understanding of PC operation then this shouldnÂ’t be a problem. This is an excellent way to personalize your operating system and comes highly recommended.
