Review by FileBEAST's J.W.B:

The Gimp, which stands for "GNU image manipulation program", is a very powerful, impressive freeware graphic editing application that comes packed with features similar to those found in commercial graphic editing utilities like Photoshop, but with the additional benefit of being 100% free to download. Hardcore graphic editing enthusiasts will be delighted with the detailed layering, channels, paths and assortment of comprehensive painting tools on offer. Installation of The Gimp is smooth and hassle-free, and the user interface feels very professional. Most will find it straightforward to operate, although first-time users may well find navigating the detailed menus a daunting prospect at first. Anyone who spends some time with The Gimp will be delighted to discover a very powerful, no-nonsense graphic editing application.
